Visitors to Cam’s Great Get Together event on Sunday raised £60 for the Jo Cox Foundation.

Dozens of local residents – including MP David Drew – popped into Cam Cricket Club during afternoon with their families to watch the England match, play games or and just eat and drink with friends.

The money was raised from donations for food provided by volunteers.

Organiser Doina Cornell said: “It was lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves on such a sunny afternoon. The football result buoyed the mood, obviously, but it was great to see the community come together.”

The Jo Cox Foundation was set up in memory of the MP who was murdered in 2016. Money is shared between the Royal Voluntary Service, the White Helmets and HOPE not hate.
